How About a Greek Restaurant on St Patty’s Day?

I know it’s Saint Patrick’s Day and with all the activities today at Spanish Springs probably not a good day to visit Amerikanos.  But why not share a great place to enjoy some Greek Food and other menu choices!  The other night Michelle I needed to get out of the house and find food, her choice we went to Amerikanos and sat outside and loved it!  Michelle had the Mediterranean Salmon Salad,

Mediterranean seasoned salmon over garden fresh greens with roasted tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and crumbled feta cheese.  Me I had the Spanakopita,

A special blend of spinach and feta cheese, baked in a flaky phyllo dough. Served with house made tzatziki sauce.  I also had the Greek Salad, Garden fresh greens served with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, feta cheese, kalamata olives and sliced pepperoncini. Topped with house made potato salad.  This from their website www.amerikanosgrille.net

Welcome to Amerikanos! We are a family-owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of Spanish Springs The Villages, Florida.  With a delicious American twist on traditional Greek classics and an extensive selection of exclusive Kanos cocktails, we strive to provide exceptional cuisine at affordable prices.  Join us for daily live music performances while enjoying warm hospitality from our knowledgeable and friendly team.

We didn’t order the Saganaki which is Kasseri cheese lightly breaded and flamed table side with brandy.  Finished with citrus and paired with warm pita bread, but the table next to us did, great presentation!

Sorry, Dick... not for me. I'm not a fan of Greek food... so I wouldn't be eating Greek on St. Patrick's Day or any day, for that matter!

I love Greek food and just checked out the menu - I'd probably wind up with several appetizers as my meal.

Good morning Dick. When Greek Town in Chicago was a really big thing, Saganaki flamed at the table was very popular nd we had it as an appetizer often. These days restaurants don't flee it at the table for fire safety reasons. Your mention of it made me jealous and hungry. But, not today, since I will be having the American Irish tradition of corned beef and \cabbage. Enjoy your day.

We had fondue last night - not a very Irish meal either - but it was fun to be with our children and grandchildren
