Wordless Wednesday Cat (Grandcat) from Years Ago

By
Industry Observer 0506509

This was my daughter's Maine Coon when she moved to Switzerland many years ago. He was such a big cat, lovable, and very curious too. She is still on her second Maine Coon. All three of these pictures are the same Maine Coon. When he passed away, she was heartbroken but her current Maine Coon, not featured on this post is just as curious and lovable but not as big as the previous one.

Those photos of the cats show them to be exceptionally large

more like their cousins from the wild

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - that's an interesting observation about the Maine Coon. I never thought of that; it makes sense.

Thank you.

Patricia that is a BIG kiddy cat.  I believe there is a saying about cats and curiosity?

George Souto - Oh yes! The first time I visited when she had that big cat, I couldn't believe the size!

Maine Coons are some very big cats!  We had one for a bit years and years ago, but Chester wasn't nearly as big as the one in the pictures!

Liz and Bill Spear - My first GrandCat was by far much larger than the one she has now. Both, very affectionate and always wanted to be part of her guitar playing. Both could sit there the entire time. Both males too.

Patricia, As everyone else has commented, that's a very BIG Cat! It sounds like your daughter is fond of that particular breed. Your pictures tell the whole Cat story.

Barbara Michaluk - thank you! My daughter always loved cats and all animals. The Maine Coon is her favorite domestic pet.

WOW! How big was the litter box Patricia Feager ? 🙄

Bob "RealMan" Timm - The pictures were taken many years ago after she moved to Switzerland. I honestly don't remember how big the litter box was. I just remember he was a very big and gentle cat. Very curious, almost human like too.

Lew Corcoran I love my daughter and my son, granddaughter, grandcats, and granddogs, all babies and children, pets, nature, plants, trees, the sky, stars, sun, planets, the moon; butterflies, birds, bees, dragonflies, and wildlife. We are all connected.

What a beautiful cat, Patricia. I adore Maine Coones... they are truly gentle giants, affectionate, and smart as a whip. Mine looks a lot like your grandcat, except he's grey and white.

Nina Hollander, Broker - the pictures of my daughter's Maine Coon are of her cat that crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The one she has now has all the same qualities, but smaller in size. The color is about the same.

I love to visit her and play with her cats. Plus, I see many when we walk the farmland roads.

That is a cool-looking cat and I am sure that it would get along with Tango, Trey, and Tom Boy, haha.

Brian England - It was a sad day when that one died. However, my daughter has another Maine Coon (smaller) but just as lovable and intelligent! She bought both of them as a kitten and had no idea how big they would get.

Maine Coons are very sociable and most likely would get along with Tango, Trey, and Tom Boy.

Patricia Feager  Yeah! She likes it!

I'm currently overseas so I know the time difference. My husband and I took a 13 night transatlantic cruise to Barcelona where my daughter and son-in-law picked us up. We flew to their home in Germany where we will be staying for a few weeks. I'm so blessed!

Occasions like this are rare and fills your heart with everlasting joy!

Good morning, Sharon Tara - She lives overseas. I received her reply in the middle of the night, my time. What you did for both of us was so kind and generous. We appreciate your artistic creativity very much! Here's what she said:

I wish I had my cats on my album covers!
So cute. Thank you!

Patricia Feager  Thank you! It is our fifth time here. The first time was for 2 weeks, each time the length of our trip has increased by a week. He works for the government and they just signed up for two more years. If nothing changes, we will be back at least a couple more times.

They live in Rothenburg ob der tauber. It is like being inside a fairytale.

I've been learning German on Duolingo for five years now and you would NEVER know it. Not easy learning a language at my age. LOL
