Wordless Wednesday…Guess Who Showed Up!

 

Remember the bluebird box at our house? Larry and I were never sure how many would hatch. We had 7 eggs but weren’t sure how many were viable. 

 

Last Thursday the first egg began to hatch!  While we have a camera inside at the top of the box, the video isn’t always on. We lucked out and happened to see the first chick beginning its entry into the world. 


 



It’s a crammed box and mom and dad are working hard to keep the chicks fed. When I’ve looked, the chicks have their little beaks open calling out for food. 

 

NEXT UP…

The eggs at one of our boxes out at Kickerillo started hatching on Sunday! 

 

 

 

We’re waiting for our third bluebird brood to hatch soon!!!



And…mating season has just begun!!

George Souto when we started "hosting" the birds we used to buy live mealworms to help them feed the babies. However they became too expensive!!

Kathy Streib - Your photos and videos of the Bluebirds hatching and their parents is truly a miracle of life! I am very happy to learn there were 7 eggs! Oh, the joy you must feel! You and Larry are like surrogate parents watching over them and filming their birth! 

Buying that camera was a good investment! Oh! I'm so very happy you were able to capture this on film. Congratulations!!!
