Ask An Ambassador: Tasty or Bland?

Take a raw egg and it can become many things.

While I can eat a hard boiled egg with some ground black pepper, it's more sustenance than enjoyable.

Take that same egg and scramble or fry it, the ingredients are the same, but the taste is better.

Take a hard boiled egg, pull out the yolk, add a few other ingredients and you've got a deviled egg, which for me is on a whole other level of tasty :)

And take that same egg and head to omelet town and there's an endless supply of possibility!

All these dishes started with the same base egg, but how tasty they are can be vastly different.

In our trade, we've got to be able to market:  ourselves, our listings, our communities.

We all start with the same base:  words.

It's how we use those words that make all the difference.

A post about a new listing can be bland or tasty.

The plain "this 3 bedroom 2 bath home in X subdivision".

Or the story version "Grab your favorite beverage, ease into your favorite Adirondack chair and watch the sun set over the valley every evening if you make this home yours!"

A subdivision post can be just factual:  Builder, sizes, costs, style of build, etc.

Or you can sprinkle in some flavor:  what's special about this community?  What's nearby?  Did you know the area's best Italian sub is just down the street at Tony's?  Oh, and did you know you can watch the evening fireworks show from the amusement park?  Add some pictures and you've got the omelet ready to plate :)

It's our choice how to use our eggs, bland or tasty?

Until next Tuesday, just Ask An Ambassador if you need help,

Hello Bill (and Liz too) - I wonder if your April Fool's Day AAA post means the yolks on you.  However, and whenever these posts are served, they provide food for thought.  Even when my mind is a bit scrambled.

I've had hard boiled, scrambled and deviled eggs in significant amounts over the last couple of weeks (doc has me on an eating plan that is anti-carb/sugar and high protein).  The deviled eggs are easily my favorite version since omelets are still off limits :)

Exactly!  Too dry and we lose attention, even if the info is valid.

Hi Bill,
You're eggs-actly right. Some of us use more of the herbs and spices in our pantry of life.

And that can make all the difference!

Now this is a great analogy! To borrow the words from Carol Williams. For newbies and all agents, this is "eggs-actly" how to market their listings to get results. The same old words may not get the results and an Agent can easily lose their listing to a more creative agent who made all the difference in getting the owner's property sold.

Thank you!

We have to make our listings appealing, and that isn't always easy, but there's a buyer for every home if we can just find the right things to tout.

So true.  And sometimes million dollar views can sell a plain jane house.  I always tell people, you can change the house, but the land is fixed.  We always find the best marketing strategy for every home.  Experience is a great teacher.

No doubt, sometimes the view tops the house.  And other times people don't plan for how the surrounding land can change.

We've experimented a little with our deviled eggs lately, more testing on the next batch (but first we have to get through the bunch we made!).

I love your analogy Bill. I ate a boiled egg for lunch today with some ground black pepper and the only thing I can say it was sustenance!. Now give me a deviled egg that my son makes and it's a whole new ball game! Great analogy because its how we use words that creates a buzz or captures others attention!

Dorie Dillard Austin TX , a hard boiled egg in a Cobb salad, I can live with :)   My dr. has me on a reset diet and for the first 5 or 6 days my morning breakfast was 2 hard boiled eggs with pepper.  After a week I definitely needed something different!  We made a HUGE batch of deviled eggs and I might be eating even less for breakfast, but enjoying it MUCH more :)

I love to eat eggs, they are filled with so much goodness for our bodies, especially if they are from chickens that are NOT fed corn or soy, haha.

Liz wants us to have chickens at our next place, I'm a bit more hesitant about adding one more thing to my plate :)

Liz and Bill Spear - Bill thanks for another great post full of great suggestions.  I know when I have a lot of listings it’s easier just to have the boiled egg with pepper as time is short and we have to hurry and get it on the market when we should be crafting the most irresistible omelette instead.  Thanks for reminding me as I won’t now forget the egg comparison

You are so right that there are many ways to market, tell stories, and to sell properties. Which recipe will work?

The recipe can certainly vary from home to home.

I love eggs of all sorts, Shakshuka is a delicious way to eat them, and somewhat healthy which will satisfy your doctor. Great post and I like the points made. I tend to use Chatgpt to spice up my property descriptions and then adjust for my style and correct information too.

NIck, I think I'm going to have to do some research, can't say I'm familiar with that type of egg.  But I've been polishing off some deviled eggs every day for the last 2 weeks and still not tired of them :)  My doctor should be happy that there's less of me than when I started.
