What if I told you that the best treasures aren't buried in the Earth but found at Second Chance? As an old house and vintage lover, would it compel you to stop by this massive ReStore in Baltimore? Yes, your answer is yes :)
I've been visiting Second Chance periodically for the last few years and have scored a few things or treasures there, from kitchen chairs to beautiful subway tile, from knick-knacks to a wooden door that came from an old mansion in North Carolina and was repurposed into a desk. I have also dropped off donations more than once and am delighted to know that my items found a new home instead of ending up in a landfill.
They got a second chance, which is precisely the mission of this social enterprise. It provides second chances for old houses, Mother Earth, and people! They sell material salvaged from old buildings and are lessening the load on landfills by doing so. They also provide people encountering various employment obstacles with job training and opportunities. Second Chance in Baltimore is an awesome concept all around, and a great place to find some treasures!
