Planting A Pretty Plot
Or
Perhaps A Foolish Flop
My April 2025 AR Challenge Post

As each ActiveRain challenge is announced, thoughts begin to form. If as well as how I can interpret the concept enter my mind. This month Eileen Burns 954.483.3912 and Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 have plotted their co-hosting strategy by growing enthusiasm through themes of blooming along with mixing in a salute-of-sorts to April 1st.

Okay, many forms of foolishness seem to work (with a not-so-subtle scent of irony) for me. On an annual basis. Biennially or whenever it happens to occur too.
And thinking about composting also allows me to prune a post while wondering if the composting isn't the ultimate portmanteau. Perhaps composting is another way of communicating by composing an entry plus posting it. Considering this alternate definition may put us on familiar ground through thoughtfully arranging possibilities. Of course, one can end up with an interesting bouquet or a stinky, smelly unorganized mess.
Back to reality. One of the actual dictionary definitions found for composting is that it is the result from the process of mixing vegetable matter with manure. Over the years, I have certainly thrown together more than a few forms of fertilizer with the pondering posts I have shared. I likely have some of that $^!* around to toss about. Now, let's root out some veggies from the refrigerator crisper section to help the compound. Although I don't know mulch about this subject, I look forward to seeing what happens as this initial-in-the-weeds-workaround continues as I combine the suggested challenge topics.

As I look for synonyms for fool and many forms of the word, things are blossoming in my brain. Let’s take a look at a few examples of phrases and such with similar meanings. Shallow-minded - check. Baffle-brained - I like alliteration - so, we can mark that as a check again. Absurd. Preposterous. Non-sensical. Check. Check. Check. Yes, this opportunity is starting to take form - germinating as I continue. It's a deciduous possibility some might say. And by some, I mean, me. Well, it seems we have the foolish component of the challenge covered with a bit of hilarity. And by bit, I again mean me - who reads this crop anyway?
Let's see how I can turn this tiny seed of mind-clutter into a challenge entry mixing elements of blooming and foolishness. Even though my laptop keyboard skills were initially practiced in ninth grade typing class, I have been known to use many fingers depending on need since. Is a transformation of my thumb to an envious shade of green in the works? Oh, wouldn't that be quite the ridiculous transition.
I am unsure if there will be an additional post from me in this challenge. The best solution in gardening parlance is to deadhead the plant so it thrives by the removal of spent or dead flowers. Let's wait and see what sprouts. Although, I have often taken a less-than-typical approach to various AR Challenges in the past, maybe trimming such things is a better choice but here's this overgrown submission anyway. Quick, call the professionals!
