Thank you Bill.  I have divorce, but it happens and I want to know that while it's difficult good real estate agents are there to help!

Oh man, one of the most ridiculous deals I was ever involved in was a sale due to divorce. I represented the buyers. The wife used their divorce attorney to represent the co-op sale- which is a big no-no unless they have considerable experience working co-op sales and this one did not. The sale dragged on for 9 months in part because the divorce attorney was not experienced in co-op sales. When we finally got to the point of setting a closing- the apartment had over 40 liens on it. Apparently the husband on the seller's side stopped paying child support once we were in contract. We did close, but even 2 hours before the closing was scheduled for- I still had no idea if the sale would close. That was a rough deal- but at least my buyers were grateful despite the issues getting to the closing.

I am glad it worked out for you.  My son is an attorney, but there are times I cringe when an attorney is involved in one of my sales!  Have a wonderful Spring!!

Hello Joy - real estate and everyday life are not as easy as some think or say.  Unfortunately, divorce is a part of life for some, and it can complicate things beyond the marriage.

Amen!  I came from a divorced home and I married a divorced man with 2 kids . . . I made up my mind I would NOT be another divorce and 40 years later we are still best friends!!
