Marin County Real Estate Market Conditions Update, March 16, 2007

So far, for the month of March 2007, 107 homes have sold in Marvelous Marin County for an average sales price of $1,123,318 and another 115 homes are pending.  If all of them close before the end of the month, and it stands to reason that they will (perhaps even a few more), that would put the number of closed sales at 222, which would be an increase of 50 homes over February 2007--historically the slowest month of the year in Marin County.

In March 2006, 338 homes sold for an average sales price of $951,779.  So you can see the volume has slowed from it's peak in 2004, but sales prices are holding steady, with multiple offers being seen on a regular basis.  Lots of counter offer situations going on as well.  People are taking a bit longer to settle on terms.  And that's okay.  This is serious business--with a LOT of money on the table.  Decisions like this should not be made in haste.
