Friday Flags: A NJ Rest Stop with Entertainment
We took a few days to relax which has us driving along the Graden State Parkway in New Jersey.
As is the case, a stop to stretch the legs and refresh the body as well is always in order.
On the way in, I paused as the flags were flying and this stop had the POW black flag, as well as the NJ flag.
It was also a warm spot for the heart to see the name that had been assigned to the stop.
Mile post 124 of the Parkway was dedicated to the singer, a New Jersey native.
For my wife it brought a tear as her son was so fond of this musician that his son had Jon as his middle name.
Even more extraordinary, was the museum style area that features one of his guitars encased in glass as well as a wall of knowledge that showed photos with descriptions of the man.
It was a very pleasant stop, and I am sure we will stop there again.
