Wishing a happy and blessed Passover to my Jewish friends, clients, and colleagues...
"Passover affirms the great truth that liberty is the inalienable right of every human being...!"
... Morris Joseph
As you observe the first night of Passover this evening and as you gather around the Seder table I'm wishing you and those whom you hold dear all the joys of the Passover holiday. I wish you a wonderful celebration of the blessings of freedom, faith, and family. May your Seder be rich with tradition, your hearts full of gratitude, and your home filled with peace. 🕊️
“I love Passover because for me it is a cry against indifference, a cry for compassion.”
... Elie Wisel
This weekend and next, many of us will be celebrating Passover or Easter. As we look forward to these two most important holidays in the Jewish and Christian faiths, let's reflect on the truly important people and the blessings in our lives. Whichever holiday we celebrate, for our families, for the memories of our children and for our communities, we have a responsibility to make our celebrations as meaningful as possible.
"“Do not overthrow the customs that have made it all the way to you.”
... Leon Wieseltier, Kaddish
Easter celebrates hope, renewal and new beginnings. Passover marks a special time in the Jewish calendar – commemorating the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt – and honors Judaism’s traditions of freedom, faith and family. The Passover story reminds us that freedom is the essential birthright of every human being. Hopefully both holidays this coming weekend will renew our faith, our relationships, and our commitment to our freedom of faith and the values we hold dear.
"The message of Passover remains as powerful as ever. Freedom is not won on the battlefield but in the classroom and the home. Teach your children the history of freedom if you want them never to lose it."
... Rabbi Shimon Raichik
"The truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free."
... Maya Angelou
On Passover, and always, may you and yours be blessed with the rich and bountiful gifts of love and with happiness, prosperity, good health, and peace. May you be warmed by memories of the past, joy in the present, and hope for the future.
"This is true freedom: our ability to shape reality. We have the power to initiate, create and change reality rather than only react and survive it. How can we all educate our children to true freedom? Teach them not to look at reality as defining their acts, but to look at their acts as defining reality.
... Yaacov Cohen
