Sight
Exotic touches of vibrant hibiscus blooms planted in pretty pots, their large, showy flowers lend a tropical flair! Papery poppies dancing in the gentle breeze, nearby petunias pop in every imaginable shade! Sentry sun-drenched sunflowers sway.
Smell
A symphony of perfumed scents waft through the air. The intoxicating aroma of lilac clusters, romantic roses in crimson, blush and sunshine hues woo the olfactory organ through an open invitation, all vying for individual attention.
Hearing
Birds chirping, sing-songing up in the high boughs of the surrounding pine, box elder and cedar trees. Honey bees busily buzzing, dancing as they hurriedly touch down, collecting pollen on laden blooms. Then taking to the air, on to the next one.
Taste
The tang on the tongue of a cherry tomato wakes up the salivary glands in anticipation for receiving more. A mature stalk of asparagus crunches between the teeth, initiating another search. Oh! And those juicy strawberries tempt the pallet.
Touch
A breathtaking panorama of textures and shapes! Clipping some fresh rosemary for an early dinner, savoring the velvet feel of sage leaves. As a feature in a planter, a common theme with herbs is bringing that space to life with a simple flair.
Spring is my favorite season. It offers an opportunity for growth and gives a renewed sense of purpose. We celebrate the quiet miracles of nature quite often in our back yard garden. For us, it's pure, unadulterated joy and a blooming riot!
