TX Bluebonnets Arrived Late in Flower Mound, TX

The Texas Bluebonnets were late this year in Flower Mound, but WOW my eyes had a lot to feast on today! Since moving to Texas in 1997, these are the most beautiful Bluebonnets I've seen yet! Green Acres was filled in abundance with acres of Bluebonnets. I never saw anything like this before. Now, I understand what it means when someone says, better late than never!

All of the Bluebonnets were taken on April 12, 2025, at Green Acres Farm in Flower Mound. Some were blue and others were more purple. And of course, the sunlight has a lot to do with how colors are seen too. I spent most of day there and couldn't pull myself away to leave.

I called this one my Candle in the Wind because it was windy

As the sun was getting ready to set the sun kept

getting brighter and brighter

Today has been an immersion into the wonders of nature. It was also a good day to read a lot under the canopy of trees this afternoon with the warm wind blowing through the trees. I am so thankful my daughter sent me a fabulous book for my birthday called Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton. It's not heavy, it is light reading, a good book to connect with nature. And yes! I did see rabbits in Green Acres today! It is evening now while I am posting. They say the Full Moon, known as the Pink Moon will occur on April 13, 2025. It has been a wonderful day enjoying all this beauty. The moon outside already looks full, big, and very bright tonight. May you all reconnect with nature and enjoy Spring to its fullest! Remember! We only get one season of spring per year.

Hello Patricia - the photographs you share of the bluebonnets in Flower Mound Texas are impressive.  Like Linus' blanket in the Peanuts comic strip, they draw us in as nature illustrates a sense of security as it tosses out signs of the season.  Albeit on its own timeline.

Awe, love the analogy to Linus' blanket, Michael Jacobs! I spent part of my afternoon today, enjoying all the beauty, for I know, bluebonnets are only temporary. Thanks for always finding the right words to add for all the right reasons.

So, so gorgeous, Patricia! I love blue bonnets. Better late than never, I say! I've always loved this quote by Jack Maguire: "the bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England, and the tulip to Holland."

George Souto - Bluebonnets are the best part of Texas and I am lucky that Lady Bird Johnson had a mission to plant bluebonnets and other wildflowers across the great state of Texas. Once I only read about it, today I live for the moments!

What a magical find Patrica!  I feel that way at times when I come upon a field of incredible blooming flowers, especially in the desert!  The Texas bluebonnets are gorgeous.......and I can see them moving gently in the wind and being transfixed with the sights and sounds of nature!

Anna "Banana" Kruchten - Isn't it sweet that each State within the United States offers its own unique beauty? I went back to Green Acres Farm today and read some more of my book. The sound of birds while sitting under the trees, surrounded by bluebonnets was lovely. The sound of nature is truly a gift to behold! No people - just a choir of birds excited about Spring!
