Where's the Spring Warmth in Connecticut?

This has been a strange year for weather with exceptional cold, winds, and in some areas deep snow.

I saw the man that plows our driveway last week and he had a very big smile, as did the oil delivery man.

A few days ago, I picked the first daffodils of the season and they were sparkling. Their brothers are a little less excited this morning, however.

With temperatures dropping into the low 30's overnight and some of the yard a touch of white, it doesn't seem like spring in our little slice of heaven,

The Easter bunny will have a tough time to get out to hide the eggs if this keeps up.

Good morning Ed. Here in Oswego, Illinois yesterday morning the sun was shining and I was on on my balcony cleaning up the winter mess and excited to sit outside the first time this season. So, later win in the day I did for about two minutes. Seems the temperature had already dropped and no way to stay. Spring is toying with us and doing it well. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin   For me, it is more just a bit of discomfort after enjoying the warmth of the South

Good morning, Ed... I remember way more than one Easter Sunday growing up in NY City with snow on the ground. It's cooler here than normal, too. I just turned the heat on in the house as the temperature had dropped to 68.

Nina Hollander, Broker   years back, while riding a shuttle from the airport to the downtown area, 2 women were talking about relocating from Michigan and they were especially liking the reality of not having to keep 2 wardrobes, for warm and cold weather and just having to keep a heavy coat for an occasional burst of cold.

Nina Hollander, Broker   As a transplanted Northern you should at least have the heavy coat and hat to tolerate that low 68

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 I moved to the south with four fur coats and a fur lined raincoat. And I actually use them from time to time! :)

Ed, so sorry to hear your Spring is so cold.  The week before I think we never got above 30 degrees during the day, but this past week was 70's and 80's.   Such swings we have!   Hope the warm weather comes soon!

Ed I would like to be warmer, but I will take a little bit of cold, over the snow we have had in Middletown, CT a couple of past years.  ☺️

HI Ed- I will not tell you about our 80 degree temperatures we're having. Just a week or so ago, we had lows in the 40s and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're done with that.

Hi Ed:

Sounds like the fickle April I remember from my time in New England...snow and spring flowers in bloom on more than one occasion.

Hello Ed - whether too hot, too cold or some combination of the two weather can be fickle far too often.  In any season.  Happy Monday.

It seems odd that you would still have cold weather in your area when it has already been in the 90's in my area, haha.
