As the Sun Sinks Lower in the Sky...Tax Season is Over...For Now!

Ugh...I write many checks every year...and just ordered more today.

I love writing commission checks to my agents. They are my favorite because I know if they made money...I made a little as well!

My least favorite checks to write? Most checks I write are for advertising, utilities, rents, and bill paying...all that are necessary for my work.

I do not really have any that I hate to write...although I did just finished writing and mailing checks to the State of Nebraska Revenue Department and the United States Treasury!  And that is never fun!  Tax Day is Paid!

But what a relief they were not any higher!!

Hey Tax Man... Your check is in the mail!!

I am always on the fence as to whether I like writing those 2 checks most years.

On the one hand...it means I am still making money and still living in a country that I can mostly do what I want.

On the other hand...I know...and I suspect everyone knows...that all types of taxes could be put to better use in some cases on all levels of government.

This is not a political post...just a post that I am thankful I have enough money to pay my current required share of taxes and still have enough left over to pay my bills and put a little in the bank for on down the road.

As the sun gets ready to set on our Tax Day 2025 ... I hope you are done for another year.  Except for tracking and inputting expense data every week...my tax obligation is fulfilled!

Many times people ask me how am I doing?

I almost always respond "I am ahead of the bill collector and the undertaker"

One of those two will never catch me, I don't think...and although I will get caught by the other someday...that day isn't today!

I am having a fantastic Tax Day with two company closings today and will make some more money tomorrow!!

And the taxes on those commissions are not due for 365 days!! Sweet!

Until Next time... Get your taxes done early next year! Start on them now!!  m

We mailed the IR checks and the first installment of quarterly as well. My wife wants to know why we don't get refunds, and I try to explain that if we are getting refunds we are not doing very well at all.

I thought my wife was the only that asked the exact same questions every single year.

Good morning, Mike... oh boy, that's a lot of checks! We try to do this kind of thing electronically as much as possible. As for commission checks, haven't seen one of those in some 15 years... mine have been direct deposited in what seems forever now.

Those are good things to be grateful for - enough income to be able to write those checks! And that tax season is over for now!
