Happy National Tax Day

By
Industry Observer CDRE #01044712

Every year on April 15th and this year on Monday April 15, 2024, we celebrate the unofficial Happy National Tax Day to recognizes

The United States enacted income tax with the 16th Amendment in 1913. At that time, the filing deadline was March 1. In 1918 the deadline was changed to March 15, and then in 1955, for the most recent change, the filing deadline was moved to April 15th.  The day has come to be known as Tax Day.

Side note, in some disaster areas the tax filing moved to October 15, 2025.

I want to wish to all friends and to everyone at ActiveRain community a Happy National Tax Day.

Hi John, Happy National Tax Day is unfortunately an "oxymoron" such as

Jumbo Shrimp

Working Holiday

only choice

walking dead

growing smaller

clearly confused

Jeff 🙂

Good morning John,

I barely knew it was Aril 15th and tax date. My accountant turned my tax return in electronical 2 weeks ago and my quarterly payment was made last week! I don't like pressure of tax day so always have it done early!

Good morning, John... I do have to agree with Jeff Masich-Scottsdale AZ Associate Broker,MBA,GRI comment! As for extensions for states hit by natural disasters, in NC we have only till May 1st and one still has to file all kinds of paperwork alerting the IRS that one intends to take advantage of the extension. As with most government plans, nothing is as simple as it looks.

I hope that you got your returns mailed off in time.  I had to drop my Mom's off at the post office because she wondered if she needed extra postage, haha.
