Selling a House As Is

By
Industry Observer CDRE #01044712

On April 16, 2025, Allaire Conte published a very good interesting report on Realtor.com about selling a house as is.

1. What does 'as is' mean in real estate?

2. The benefits and drama of a home sold as is,

3. Pros of buying a home as is,

4. Cons of buying a home as is,

5. Should you purchase an as-is home?

6. Can you still negotiate after the inspection?

Perhaps there might be other helpful list of selling a house as is.

Good morning John. Not a bad list. Selling "as-is" can have advantages and comes with potential drawbacks. What is your level of risk as a buyer? How is your contract worded as far as inspection rights? What is your reading of the room? Choose wisely for yourself. You are the one that counts. Enjoy your day.

John, we have a few listing agents adding AS-IS, but still doesn't stop the buyer for asking for repairs or a credit.

Hello Joan Cox I have seen it in a few occasions on AS-IS listings the buyers ask for repairs or credit. Thank you for the comment.

Good information to share John.  Selling "as is" does reduce the number of potential buyers, but this route can be easier for the seller.  Have a good holiday weekend.
