Good morning, Margaret, and Happy Easter. My designer friends have told me more than once that I break every rule in the design book in my home, but somehow it all works. I wonder what that says about me! (Probably that I've been breaking rules most of my life, in general.)

Margaret - what a fun and interesting post.  Your post had me smiling and laughing. I haven't run into any unique personalities like the ones you posted - unless converting a bedroom into a gym (but that is pretty common). A chicken in a kitchen sink!  I will guess that maybe it is painted or a stencil in the sink. I'm sure you will let us know.

Good morning Margaret. I have friends that would like to have a home with a golf practice room instead of a cellar. Once had a listing where the ladies closet was about 1,000 plus square feet with customized built in dressers and large 3 panel mirror. The guy's closet was smaller. The bath was huge also but the unique thing was the circular raised platform bed with a jaczuzzi tub next to to it. You are correct, not for everybody. Enjoy your day.

Margaret my wife and I don't have any specialty rooms like the ones you mentioned, but our home definitely reflects who we are.

I love all the examples you have chosen in your post of unusual treasures displayed! I have to admit I haven't seen many and the chicken in the sink you were talking about has aroused my interest! Can't wait to hear more.

Hello Margaret - how we live in a home can be a reflection of the owner in many ways.  When that property goes on the market, it becomes another house for sale in the minds of many buyers.  That can be difficult for some sellers to understand.  That doesn't mean it will be impossible to market or sell, but it isn't always as easy as some say for some to visualize possibilities.  

How interesting! I would have loved to have seen some of those, and I look forward to finding out more about the chicken in the sink!

Oh this post speaks my language Margaret!  My Mother got me started on designing homes and spaces at a very young age and honestly I've created so many different spaces, themes, you name it.  I'd best describe our home as an 'entertaining hub' as we host a lot of big parties and fun events here and have for years.  And yes, things get changed up quite often around here.......feng shui away I say~
