Posting and Ghosting? 👻
Â
If you're doing that, it's like showing up at a gathering and dropping a juicy tidbit of information with fellow partygoers, then quickly disappearing before a discussion takes place. Social media platforms depend on interactivity.
Â
Here are a few examples of P & G'ers:
Â
👻 Seeking Constant Approval
Other folks look for validation through controversial subjects that are emotionally charged, stoking the virtual fire to fuel reactions. Once getting that hit, they're done, retreating before the audience throws virtual, rotten tomatoes.
Â
👻 Atta Girl or Boy Syndrome
Fishing for compliments is another way to gain a following. Of course, it might start out, "Please don't judge me or be rude." Upon feeling that support, there's no need to engage further and hope no one notices their absence.
Â
👻 The Smolder Effect
Shooting off firework after firework without looking up to admire the sounds, shapes and colors because the explosion is not the point but instead, it's the lingering smoke that remains well after the excitement is over.
Â
People often ghost and post on social media forums to get attention, check out the likes - dislikes, comments then quickly move on to do something else. Me? I enjoy being engaged with positive people who are like-minded.
Â
Online relationships should be reciprocal - otherwise, it’s like talking to yourself, and if anyone’s around, they might think you’re a bit off. It also makes you seem like an attention-seeker and people tend to shy away from imposter posters.
Â
At least I do! 👻
