When I was young (before my dad passed when I was nine) we would go to his sister Ann's home for Easter Brunch. It started about 11 am, and all my relatives on my father's side of the family would be there (he had 11 brothers and sisters...so I had around 30 first cousins alone on that side of the family).
It was a major food fest. To this day I am not sure how my Aunt Ann made all that food. My personal favorites were Eggplant Parmigiana and Sausage (Easter) Pie. I no longer eat meat (I gave that up about twenty years ago)...but if my Aunt Ann was somehow able to come back for just this Easter, I would eat an entire pie. It was truly a little piece of Heaven.
This Easter remember that Jesus not only rose from the dead, 500 people witnessed his resurrection! In a day when people would lie to get out of any situation, his disciples refused to change their stories and were murdered for simply giving a first hand account of the greatest miracle of all time.
He is Risen
