Inspired by posts that I see from others, I wanted to begin a weekly series of resources for people in need who are in the East Valley. I think continuing to research this weekly series will also help me to discover what is out there for those in need.

Teens learn skills through peer helping, leadership, mentoring, conflict resolution and community service. PAL provides effective training in resiliency strategies and addresses issues such as violence in schools, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, gang participation and dropping out of school.” To learn more, click HERE.

oh my gosh, Brian- every community needs a program like PAL. Peer pressure is hard and much as we'd like to think it doesn't matter....clothes do matter. I like the idea of the "closet" for them. Organizations like this are helping teach our children to enter the world as good citizens.

I think that I was lucky as a kid Kathy Streib since I seemingly had reverse peer pressure, haha. My friends wouldn't let me do bad things like drugs and such because they said I had too many good things going for me, haha.
