The Feature Photo was taken when I arrived at Padre Island years ago. And no. I did not make a typo in my Title. By the way, it was a great camera, but I never figured out how to change the date. These photos were taken just before the pandemic. As soon as I sat down, a flock of birds came over. I wasn't nervous. Not yet! What I experienced was continuous incoming birds flying directly at me! Each bird came within inches or millimeters of my head! I learned quickly why I was the only one on the beach! Perhaps, the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds," wasn't just a figment of the Author's imagination!
I got off the beach as quickly as I could and moved away to Corpus Christi. I have to say the middle bird scared me off the Island! There were many birds that day and they took aim at me! I guess they didn't want me on their side of the beach! But the Blue Herons were calm and beautiful to watch. Could it be, Blue Herons have rules about using air space and common courtesy? I think so!
Also, for years I pondered. Is it a fact that some humans have aggressive bird brains and others have a more rational bird brain? Is it possible that is why some people are easier to get along with than others because like the Great Blue Heron there really are humans and creatures that enjoy living in harmony with people and in nature.
