Oconee Station Falls

Three Waterfalls to Visit in Walhalla, SC

Looking to cool off and enjoy nature? Check out these three easy-to-reach waterfalls:

Issaqueena Falls: Off Hwy 28, just past Stumphouse Tunnel. A short trail with a big payoff. This is a fee park, so please enjoy the falls, bike trails, and the Stumphouse Tunnel.  The tunnel is a great place to cool off as it is always around 60°F*.

Yellow Branch Falls: Across from Stumphouse Tunnel, a 1.5-mile hike with rewarding views. The forest fire this spring has burned away most of the debris from Hurricane Helene.  Watch for snags; this is a wooded trail with a meandering path.  The walk to the falls is a medium-length trail.

Station Cove Falls: Near Oconee Station Historic Site, an easy 0.5-mile hike through spring wildflowers-think may apples, trillium, and even some lady slippers if you look close to the creek.  You will have to walk rocks across the creek, so wear good shoes.  I like to carry a walking stick to steady me on the walk across the creek.

Pack water, wear sturdy shoes, your phone, and take a camera. You’ll want to remember these.

So picturesque. I don't know exactly where Valhalla is, bat presumed it to be in the Western end of the state as the east is too flat, for the most part.

My grandparents used to own land in North Carolina near Highlands - the family still owns some of the land but the waterfall was sold.  So sad....  I thought it was so cool to own a waterfall.
