Motivational Monday – Balance

For busy professionals regardless of role or industry, balance between personal and professional lives is important. Years ago, I read Buddha was the first person who discussed balance and use a wheel in this discussion.

Balance also extends to our thoughts as Bruce Lee noted in these words:

"Balance your thoughts with action."

When I read Lee’s words, my philosophical brain traveled down several paths including emotional intelligence. For those who demonstrate emotional intelligence, how we respond, our actions, must be balanced between the other individual and ourselves. This balance often includes our own moral code or ethics.

Others have similar thoughts about balance and action.

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving."

Albert Einstein

"Man maintains his balance, poise and sense of security only as he is moving forward."

Maxwell Maltz

"Want balance in your life? Then sure, get your own act together, but don’t forget four powerful disciplines of execution in your team and organization."

Stephen Covey

Returning to NW IN to celebrate my sister's belated birthday and mine. And I will get to visit my home church and enjoy Perch, good Pizza and good Chinese food. NW AZ has great beef and Mexican food, but not so much fish, pizza or Chinese food.

Hello Leanne - while I was aware of the two of the authors, Maxwell Maltz was a new-to-me name.  A quick online search for his name underscored that combinations of many sorts of things can come together.  In words or wisdom, in making a point and so much else.

Good morning. I too had never heard of Maxwell Maltz and enjoyed reading some of his other quotes. Thank you and make it another exceptional day.
