It is THAT Time of Year Again!

We have seen some sun, some rain, some snow, and many yards have yellow flowers sprinkled in their yards.

Finding a weed killer that is still safe for you can be fun, especially since Roundup has had so much bad publicity.    We all have those dreaded pesky weeds, and we are starting to see them around here too in between snowstorms.

Weed B Gone

  • 1 Gallon Vinegar
  • 2 cups Epsom Salt
  • 1/2 cup Dawn (original)

How easy is this?   Mix it and put in a sprayer and voila - your own weed killer!

Hi Joan:

That graphic is perfect for your post - no doubt many despise weeds and they seem to grow no matter what the conditions area. Thanks for the DIY formula.

Jeff

Not only is it environmentally safe, but it also makes one hungry for a salad.

Hello Joan - vinegar, often paired with other easy-to-find ingredients, is a friendly companion to more than a few maintenance projects.

Well, you know me, Joan... I pay no attention to stuff like weeds. Fortunately, I have someone who comes to my house and does take care of them.

Kathy, I have posted this before, and saw many weeds outside, so thought it was timely.

Good morning Joan. The power of Vinegar is never to be underestimated. Been a fan for many years and not just for windows. When living in Florida, your recipe was the "Weed B Gone" of choice. It also works well with pipe clogs, windows and other things. Enjoy your day.

I've been using something similar - 30% vinegar, table salt and dawn. It's been working well!

Wayne, had not heard that for pipe clogs, I have a slow draining one in my bathroom, will need to try that.

Well I didn't know about this concoction Joan!  Pretty simple.  Now if I were the the one that managed our yard........but I have zero interest.
