The City of Marathon offers a First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program, providing up to $20,000 in down payment assistance loans to qualifying low and moderate-income individuals and families. These loans are interest-free, require no monthly payments, and offer prorated forgiveness over 30 years.

Additionally, Monroe County participates in the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program, which offers up to $45,000 per home in assistance, secured by a 30-year, zero-interest note and mortgage. This program is designed to make homeownership more accessible to income-qualified residents.

By tapping into these resources, Luc and Suze were able to bridge the financial gap, making their homeownership dream a reality.
