The 1941 built Edison Theater in Ft Myers sold to SanCap Bank

Edison Theater Partnership has sold the property located at 1533 HENDRY ST to Sanibel Captiva Bank for $2,000,000 on April 28, 2025, according to the Lee County Clerk of Court. 

 

The Edison Theatre opened on September 9, 1941 with Sidney Toler in “Charlie Chan in Rio” & Paul Kelly in “Mystery Ship”. It was operated by E.J. Sparks, a subsidiary of Paramount Theatres Inc.
The Edison Theatre was closed in mid-June 1981. The building still stands, now used as offices.
