I am really glad that you, Kathy, and Bill post their thoughts, that they have been parsed from countless others, and thus you save the reader so much time!

The music industry was like this: they decided who was worthy of recording and marketing an act, and who was not.

The book publishing industry is like this too.  Editors receive manuscripts and decide which is going to be published.

News organizations also want to tell you who is politically correct and who is not.

Well, guess what.

All these folks are being upended with social media baloney.

I say baloney, because anyone who wishes to play music, write a book, or become a politician does not have to go through any gatekeepers any more.

The 'freedom' of online publishing means that anyone with any idea whatsoever can throw out their work online and hope for the best.  Unfortunately it doesn't work that well.

Unless you can find the content, it is meaningless.  Like the felled tree in the forest story.  Again: it is marketing, paid or word of mouth, that amounts to any positive representation to the public.

If you don't get a referral meme or idea or video link from your friends or associates, who got it from someone else, you would have never heard about that song, that article, or that insane political maneuver that was just made.

So

Thank you for editing out what YOU think is worthy for us to discover.  Thank you.

Thank you Ma'am for the inclusion. It was one of those posts that just took minutes to write because it all flowed out so naturally.   And I also found some really cool reading among your other picks this week after I got all sweaty with planting flowers this morning.  Now I'm about to have a cup of coffee and finish my latest murder mystery.
