Can AI write your agent bio?

By

Of course it can, but should you use it?

If you need a resume’ rather than a bio, I’d say yes, go ahead and use AI. That'sartificial intelligence because a resume' is factual, and usually very dry reading. Human resources departments use them to learn about a potential employee's experience, credentials, and business achievements.

But a bio is different. A bio is personal.

As the 3rd-most visited page on a service provider’s website, it is an agent’s most powerful marketing tool.

A bio brings you to life as a person. Because a well-written bio lets your personality shine through, it helps potential clients see you as someone they will like and trust.

AI can't convey that information, because it knows nothing about yourenthusiastic real estate agent enthusiasm for your work – or about why your personality and some of your past experiences have prepared you to be a stellar real estate professional. It can’t hear the excitement or enthusiasm in your voice when you talk about the clients you most love to serve.

A good bio doesn’t simply present you as a professional who will assist clients in achieving their real estate goals.

It also allows potential clients to relate to you personally on a variety of levels. It might be through your past careers, where you grew up, where you went to school, your hobbies, your community involvement, or something else entirely.

One of my past clients reported that she gained a new client because I had included her experience in moving from the U.S. to England and back. A prospect read that and decided she was the perfect person to help and advise her.

Couldn’t you just give AI the information?

Perhaps. However, I’ve found that it sometimes falls on me to pull that information from my clients by asking them the right questions, even after they’ve filled out my questionnaire.

This may sound strange, but sometimes agents don't realize how their past experiences have prepared them for a career in real estate. They also don't always realize that activities they regard as routine are regarded as "above and beyond" by clients who have been served by lesser agents in the past.

........................

Marte,
The bio you wrote showed "ME." I am so glad that you expressed so ably.
Thank you,
Debbie

AI can do a lot.

When it comes to research, there’s nothing better – or faster! But when it comes to replacing human understanding and conveying emotion, it’s not up to the job. At least not yet.

For now, we need humans to understand what matters to other humans.

I’ve visited with agents who tried having AI write their bio. They got what you might expect – a re-hash, re-write, compilation of whatever was already out there online. And if that was all they needed, then they didn’t need a new bio at all!

If you need a better bio…

Marte, many agents here in the Rain have tried asking what AI can write about themselves.

Joan Cox Since it costs nothing to find out, they should try it.

Hey Marte Cliff, this is such a great take on AI bios! 👍 You're spot on about the personal touch being key. Thanks for sharing your expertise on this! 😊

Thanks Lew Corcoran. I do believe a bio needs to be personal and well thought-out.

Hi Marte = have you read posts from Roy Kelley, Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 and Nina Hollander, Broker They asked this of an AI site, and it regurgitated what it was able to gather from the internet.    There much AI can do but for now, it lacks that extra layer a human can provide.

Kathy Streib - and the key words are "for now." We know it can't feel emotion, but perhaps with enough input, it will be able to fake it.
Thanks for those links - I'll check out their posts!

Good evening Marte,

You make a very valid point about the distinction between your Bio and your resume. Your bio should speak to your personality, passion and what sets you apart from the pack.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - Every good agent has a thing or two that sets them apart. I believe a bio needs to reveal it!

Good morning, Marte... I've been playing around with AI and was actually pleasantly surprised by what it produced about me... I'm not saying I'll be using it all, but it did remind me on what to focus on in some areas.

Hello Marte - can AI write a bio (or anything) and does it have a purpose.  It's a simple question that's easier to see answers in everyday life.  It's also complicated in numerous ways.

Yes, Michael Jacobs. I'm not so sure I like all it can do - such as replicate voices. That is scary to me. And yesterday I heard on the radio that within a few years, an AI/robotic surgeon will be more skilled than the most skilled human. That would require developing intuition.... Is that possible?
I'm sure they'll sacrifice thousands of animals as they experiment with it, but who will volunteer to be the first human?

AI is certainly proving to be useful for a lot of things, especially grunt work, haha.  With anything that I have had AI do for me, I have always added to or taken away from it to make it my own.

Brian England - I'm told that it can create a good framework for you to work from. I also like it for generating ideas - just like brainstorming with another human. Requests such as "Tell me 10 reasons why..." often get some interesting answers. (and sometimes not 😀)

I so agree with you Marte!  I can tell an AI written piece a  mile away as it doesn't show the writers personality.  Boring......and it doesn't draw me in to finding out more about that person.

Hello Marte Cliff - This is Memorial Day weekend. I spent my time remembering soldiers. In Flower Mound, there are lots of flags around the Flowe Mound mound where the wildflowers grow. Pinned to each flag is a soldier who died during the Vietnam War with their bio.

You were right! "A bio brings you to life as a person." Thus far, it has been a very meaningful Memorial Day weekend for me, and I hope for you too.
