Favorite Quotes from Author James Patterson
and personal thoughts to ponder...

"Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity. And you're keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls...are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered.
"

---James Peterson---

"Your mind creates your reality. If you expect nothing, you open up the universe to give you options. If you expect the worst, you usually get it."

---James Peterson---

"You are an endless project....changing, evolving, surprising."

---James Peterson---

"For a long time, it had seemed to me that life was about to begin -- real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

---James Peterson---

"Seize what's been handed you. Make smart decisions. Make decisions because life is a temporary situation."

---James Peterson---

Person Reflections---Patricia Feager

No matter where I've been in life (daughter, spouse, parent, single, friend, patient, buyer, seller, real estate agent, student, employee, or self-employed) I have always juggled five balls. Work always kept me the busiest. Depending on what ball was in the air (believe me, some balls were harder to juggle than others), somehow, I got through it all. Through trials and errors, I learned a lot. I am most appreciative for the rubber balls I juggled.

Generations before me would likely say, you were lucky to have had television and the internet before me. But then I wonder? The reality is, how much more could I have learned on my own by doing rather than by staying glued watching goofy stuff, listening to the wrong people, and paying attention to misinformation on T.V., listening to gossip, or being addicted to the internet with all its ads and distractions?

You don't have to take other people's garbage or believe in what they say about you. What others say about you is not your business. It is their problem, and their own immaturity not yours. When you hear someone continuously use a negative word, avoid them like a big bad bug or pandemic.

Obstacles are part of life. You're in a hurry. The light turns red, or a train crosses the track in front of you. Like it or not, there are great lessons to be learned via obstacles:

  • Gratitude when you did not go through the red light or ignore the warning.
  • Growth when you get outside of your comfort zone.
  • Courage stems from being resilient.
  • Your attitude is your gratitude when you do the right thing.
  • Stopping to think before making a decision can save your life and others too.

Smart decisions sharpen your grit! In the face of adversity, you become stronger when you make your own decision without leaning on someone else. Whatever problem you have, it's your problem. Don't give it away without making your own decision and make it a smart one. Our emotions play a crucial role in decision-making. Live and learn from your success and failures. More failures can promote more growth within.

Good morning, Patricia... wonderful quotes... each of them was new to me and totally worth pondering. Then again, I don't read Peterson. I'm probably not about to start reading Peterson, but I will ponder on the quotes.

Nina Hollander, Broker - James Patterson was being interviewed about a new published book called "The #1 Dad, be the best you can." It was a very interesting interview. He did not talk about his other books.

Hello Patricia - similar to Nina Hollander, Broker, I don't recall reading any James Patterson books, so the quotes are new-to-me although I realize he is a prolific author.  However, juggling of priorities of many kinds are familiar.   Once again. combinations from many different sources are a part of the mix we choose to make.

Michael Jacobs and Nina Hollander, Broker - I do not read James Patterson books either. I do appreciate his quotes, and I thought he did an excellent job being interviewed on his new Dad's book. I really like his quotes and thought his interview was very eye opening.

Good morning Patricia. I to do not read or follow the thoughts of James Patterson. That said each individual creates their own reality. And while most think if one glass ball falls and breaks it does not necessarily mean the other glass balls still in play loose meaning. Enjoy your day.
