Northern Virginia's luxury real estate market showcased its opulence in April 2025, with the top five home sales reflecting a blend of architectural grandeur, modern amenities, and prime locations. Here's an overview of these remarkable properties:

1. $14.05 Million – 1260 Crest Ln., McLean

Perched on McLean’s prestigious “Gold Coast,” this estate offers panoramic views of the Potomac River. Built in 1973 and hitting the market for the first time, the 9,143-square-foot residence sits on over 4 acres. It boasts eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a terraced garden, and a pool, epitomizing timeless elegance.

2. $8.25 Million – 6470 Kedleston Ct., McLean

This Georgian-style estate spans 10,118 square feet, featuring seven bedrooms. Luxury amenities include a chef’s kitchen with dual islands and a fireplace, a bathroom equipped with a sauna and steam room, a black-bottom pool, and a temperature-controlled wine cellar, offering a resort-like living experience.

3. $5.4 Million – 900 Whann Ave., McLean

Located in Langley Forest, this New England-style colonial home encompasses six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Over two decades, it has seen extensive renovations, enhancing its kitchen, bathrooms, and library. Additional features include a private au pair or in-law suite, an outdoor kitchen, and a 1,500-bottle wine cellar.

4. $4.495 Million – 4612 37th St. N., Arlington

A newly constructed home in North Arlington’s Country Club Hills, this four-level residence offers seven bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. Set on 0.37 acres, it includes a formal dining room, a library with built-in shelves, a gourmet kitchen, a recreation room, a golf simulator room, and potential space for wine storage.

5. $4.4 Million – 1001 Savile Ln., McLean

This colonial estate, built in 2012, is nestled on a secluded 2.69-acre lot with convenient access to the George Washington Parkway and Tysons area. The nearly 8,900-square-foot home features eight bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a recreation and gaming area, a detached studio apartment, a four-car garage, and an infinity pool.

Market Context:
April 2025 witnessed a significant surge in Northern Virginia's housing inventory, with active listings up nearly 70% compared to the previous year. Despite this increase, home prices continued to rise, with the median price reaching $779,000—a 3.7% year-over-year uptick. This trend indicates a robust demand for luxury properties in the region.

These top-tier sales underscore Northern Virginia's status as a hub for luxury real estate, where architectural excellence meets modern living.

Those are not homes...they are complexes. I always laugh (we have a lot of huge homes) when I find out the owners are a husband and wife...the kids are gone. Does anyone need that much space...lol
