Ticks are Becoming more Prevalent in Colorado

If you take your dogs or cats for a walk outdoors these days, you should check your pet after the walk to ensure they don't have any ticks.   There was an instance where a family took their dog to the dog park, and then the dog had a vet appointment, and the vet found SEVEN ticks on the dog.

Luckily, the ticks in Colorado do not usually carry the Lyme Disease that is so dangerous, but in a few occasions, a tick has left an animal unable to move.

VERY important to check your pet after they have enjoyed an outdoor activity!

Hi Joan... Lyme Disease can be very bad. My mother caught it in Westchester County in New York and was hospitalized as a result.

Joan Cox Cleo loves to go out and sit with me for a little while, and the weather is nice. I noticed she was starting to scratch, so as much as she enjoys it she is going to stay indoors

Good Morning Joan Cox

This is a good reminder. Ticks are everywhere. Chickens like them, but most mammals do not 😁

Joan, this is a timely and important reminder for pet owners in Colorado! Even though Lyme disease might not be as prevalent there, the fact that ticks can still cause immobility in animals is concerning. It's definitely crucial for everyone to be vigilant and check their furry friends after any outdoor activities. Thanks for sharing this important local news!

Nina Hollander, Broker luckily in Colorado, it isn't that dangerous, except in a few cases of paralysis for our pets.

Hannah, after this news came out this morning, I noticed Izzi was scratching too.   I look all over her, but she hasn't been outside.
