Good morning Nina. Not yet a fan of the electric automobile, but I am seeing them grow in popularity just like the Model T so many years ago. Wonder when the environmentalists will start asking questions? Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin hi Wayne... I drive a hybrid. I get 42 miles to the gallon and fill up with gas about once a month. Not ready to totally commit to all electric and their impact on the environment is quite dire as far as I'm concerned.

This is good information to share with area residents and visitors.

Hi Roy... I did a post on this a few years ago and it's astonishing how much charging stations have grown in the past few years.

Hello Nina - range anxiety is a reality for many EV drivers.  Knowing where/when to charge can provide some relief.

Michael Jacobs hi Michael... since I don't drive an EV, but a hybrid, that has never occurred to me. Good point.

I think EV's are a great alternative for those on a leisure vacation. If you want to get from say Florida to NY in one day...use gas. If you have time to travel with stops along the way...love the idea of electric travel.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty I took the middle road, Jeff, and bought a hybrid. It gives me 42 miles to the gallon on general and I don't fill up more than once a month if I'm not travelling.

Hi Nina,
This is very useful to the EV community. I haven't made the conversion yet, and don't have any plans to do so. I agree with you about the dire impact on the environment. It's one of those unconsidered consequences.

I would definitely consider a hybrid next time I purchase a vehicle.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila... since I don't drive an EV I hadn't realized until recently that you can't just pull up to any charging station like we do to a gas station.

Finding a place to charge has become an issue in some areas, The more rural the worse it gets. In cities, it becomes more a matter of now you're done, please move as there are not enough places to charge.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 it's certainly no panacea still regardless of what some proponents would like us to believe.

Hi Nina- EVs make sense depending upon your driving habits. We have a Prius which we love and a Jag convertible which we also love. I would not want to rely solely on an EV for my transportation.

When we lived in FL, with the possibilities of evacuation before a hurricane, I would not want to rely on an EV to go from Delray to the FL border.

May 16, 2025 12:10 PM
Nina Hollander, Broker

Kathy Streib hi Kathy... that's why I ultimately purchased a hybrid... I did not want to be that dependent on an all electric vehicle.

Great info to share.  We don't really have any here in the Morristown area except at the Electric companies, but we are also very rural.  I am sure we will be adding more in the future!

Norma J. Elkins hi Norma... that's exactly the issue with pushing for more EVs... in so many parts of the county there's no way to charge them.

Nina have enough charging stations in the area should be a major part in deciding whether to purchase an EV or not.

May 16, 2025 01:47 PM
Nina Hollander, Broker

George Souto sounds logical, doesn't it, George. And yet people have gone out to buy EVs and not taken into account what it might take to keep a car charged up. And frankly, three/four years ago when gas prices were way up and there was a push towards EVs Charlotte had very few charging stations.

Great information for the EV community and those living in the Charlotte area and considering buying an electric vehicle. I still drive traditional cars and have no plans to change.

Jeff Dowler, CRS good morning, Jeff. My husband drives a traditional car... but he doesn't drive much. I don't think he puts even 1,000 miles on the car in one year. I drive a hybrid and am very happy with it.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX good morning, Dorie... and what people often forget is if you need to charge an EV it can take quite while to sit there while the car charges up.

Nina Hollander, Broker - I'm not a fan of an electric car but I do like my electric lawnmower! Charging stations took off like hotcakes years ago but I rarely see anyone using them. I have adjusted to gas stations, and they are easier on the eyes when driving than those electric charging stations.

May 17, 2025 05:57 AM
Nina Hollander, Broker

Patricia Feager hi Patricia... I've never owned a lawnmower of any kind in my life... so I have no opinions about which ones are good or bad. :)

May 17, 2025 06:05 AM
Patricia Feager

Nina Hollander, Broker - I cut my own grass. Last year I bought an electric lawn mower, and it made all the difference, especially because of gas prices! Plus, I hated driving a gas can in my car. I always felt vulnerable and hoped no one crashed into me with that gas.

May 17, 2025 06:20 AM
Nina Hollander, Broker

Patricia Feager I had no grass to cut until I moved to Charlotte. First two houses we owned had large lots and grass was cut professionally. The last 19 years I've lived in a neighborhood where yard maintenance is part of my HOA fee.
