What's happening on Maui regarding housing these days?

We are in dire need of more housing due to the wildfires in 2023.  Check out my Maui Newsletter for May 2025 to get the latest news on housing in the Lahaina burn zone, and elsewhere on the island.

You'll find many links to the news stories and updates, along with the most recent sales statistics for housing and vacant land all over Maui County. There's also the sale of the most expensive oceanfront home this year, by Hawai'i Life and Concierge Auctions.

If you just want a quick look, then CLICK HERE for the statistics from the Maui MLS for the month of April.

Thanks for reading my Maui blog...

Good morning Georgia,

I thought you might be in desperate need of housing after those horrific 2023 wild fires. Good to see you have a newsletter for your readers to keep them informed.

I'm not too surprised to see housing is still an issue. It looks like condos might be picking up (I peeked at the statistics!)

Good morning Georgie. It is not a surprise that supply cannot keep up with demand. It sounds like more could be done to alleviate the problem. Thanks for the update. Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Georgie... so good to see you. It's been a while. I'm not surprised that you are still short of housing in Maui. We have the same issue here in North Carolina after the hurricane last fall. Wish all this could move more quickly than it does.

Georgie, I can imagine you would need more housing after the fires, so hoping many are rebuilding.

I've been to Maui many times and look forward to seeing it again soon after more re-building has been done. I wish you God speed with its recovery from the wildfire. I know what it is to go through a disaster. I've worked many of them for various federal, state and county entities. Good luck to you ALL!

Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 - WOW! Yours and other lives in Hawaii have not been the same before the wildfires in 2023. Our country has had many disasters and there are still people in need from previous claims. We really can't take on anymore immigration until the problems like you're facing in Hawaii are resolved.
