She Was Stuck in the Middle
Brenda, a top-producing real estate agent took home the prestigious high-volume award for 10 years straight. When the market stalled, she was completely unprepared! Contracts were canceled, and fairly soon, every open house felt like a 3-ring spectacle of despair.

At one time, she had a steady source of business referrals from past clients. The phone now rang with calls from the car warranty renewal guy or fellow agents. Instead of wanting advice, they spouted absurd theories, each more nonsensical than the last.
One joked, “It must be the alignment of Jupiter, Uranus and Venus in retrograde!” Another more serious, perpetually tanned peer thought it was the result of a “spiritual cleansing of unsustainable wealth.” Brenda would quietly grit her teeth, then ring off.

She saw them occasionally at networking or educational events. The jokers enjoyed non-stop, back-slapping and being social while Brenda worked long days, in an attempt to build new clientele or hold deals together, even when they seemed destined to fail.
Remaining focused with a Can-Do attitude, she weathered uncertainty as fellow agents around her chased new trends like a runaway clown car with no brakes. Brenda was resolute in knowing the current market was temporary and would change eventually.

You see, real estate is cyclical. Brenda navigated it with tenacity, focusing her attention on business, though she was stuck in the middle with clowns to the left and jokers to the right the entire time. She has become busy again with business and they are just stuck!
