Big Elk 55+ community in West Grove, PA, Penn Township is located about a mile from a strip mall Jennersville Village Shops with a large Giant supermarket, Starbucks, 2ESP Pub, Sakura Asian Restaurant, The Corner Cafe, Norman's Hallmark Store, Pets and Friends, a large CVS, Dry Cleaner, Snap Fitness Gym, Hairdresser and Spa, Fajitas Y Salsa Taco restaurant, State Store, Dairy Queen and even an ATT store along with Salad Works, Aurora Pizza and Pasta and a Pack and Ship store as well, just about everything you need nearby including a winery and vineyard Casa Carmen.
Right next door to the community, Christianacare is rebuilding a new community hospital and emergency room.
In the Big Elk Community there is a club house, with gym holding free weights and a small assortment of exercise machines, bathrooms, kitchen and club room, film room and swimming pool. If you need it the local YMCA is nearby as well as a township park for those who like to walk.
Big Elk offers buyers single family homes in a variety of sizes and styles, along with a number of "Villa" homes, there are twins located towards the back of the community, those on the exterior have wooded views and some have a view of the winery as well.
The "Villa" homes all have a similar floorplan, although some owners chose to include a sunroom, which extends the house and the main ensuite bathroom. Depending on the lot, some are built on a slab foundation, some have walk out basements and some have basements with emergency window exits. Owners have chosen to build screened in porches, patios, decks according to their taste. Some of these homes have gas fireplaces as well. All have a ground floor Main suite with bathroom and walk in closet, an open floorplan with kitchen, dining area and living room with a powder room, laundry room and access to the two car garage; upstairs there are two further bedrooms, a hall bath and closet. Some have finished basements with bathrooms along with storage and utility area.
The single family homes are built with a variety of floorplans offered by the builder Ryan Homes. The Big Elk development is sold out, with resales now available for interested buyers. There are currently six homes for resale, five single family homes, and a single villa with another pending villa sale. Prices range from $450,000 for the "Villa" home to $599,900 for the highest priced single family.
