Memorial Day – OH YEAH! Freedom, Sacrifice,
and Wide-Open Land
Memorial Day — OH YEAH! It's not just the start of summer. It’s a day to remember the brave men and women who laid down everything so we could live, build, dream, and thrive. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedom we walk on — literally.
Here in the land business, that freedom hits different. Every vacant parcel, every untouched acre, every ridge with a view or stream in the valley — it's all possible because someone stood up to protect what America is all about: liberty, ownership, opportunity.
Think about it: buying land isn't just a transaction — it's one of the most American things you can do. It’s freedom in its rawest form. You can build, conserve, create, or just sit in the middle of your own slice of earth and breathe. That’s what they fought for. That’s what they died for. That’s what we live for.
On this Memorial Day, I walked a piece of land that was quiet, peaceful, untouched. And it made me think — some of these woods have stood since before the Revolution. Some parcels I’ve sold were owned by veterans who came home, bought land, and carved out a life. And now, their stories live on in the next generation of stewards.
So if you’re standing on land today, your own or someone else’s — take a second to feel that. It’s freedom under your feet. And it didn’t come easy.
Here’s to those who gave it all.
Here’s to the wide open.
Here’s to the dream.
Happy Memorial Day — OH YEAH.
Wishing you a meaningful Memorial Day,
Thomas Santore
