Additional Benefits of ActiveRain Blogging Points
The June Challenge is an offering to meander through the ActiveRain Points store and exchange blogging points for equity dollars to fund dreams.
After many years of activities on ActiveRain to garner business and accumulating points as well, it's time to share the rewards and do something special for all.
ActiveRain points carry a special monetary value unlike any other manner of currency. Had it been possible, in the early days, to buy a Feature star for a post, many would have spent whatever was requested. To a blogger here, that was almost as good as receiving an Oscar or an Emmy.
Well, I am using 200,000 of my cache to further life expectancy.
My wife and myself have been blessed to have traveled and learned as well.
We spent time in St Augustine, FL at the location brought to the world by Ponce de Leon in 1513. It was believed that whoever drank or bathed in the waters from the spring would enjoy extended youth.
Similarly, while in Portugal last September, we visited two mineral springs, renowned for their healing powers. I do have a personal experience with their promise, as on a visit there as a youth, I was affected with a horrible rash.
My parents spent a couple of days at one of the springs, where I was made to sit in a warm tub of mineral spring water twice a day for 3 days and the rash disappeared, never to return.
The Quest
Since the dawn of creation, people have sought a manner to give themselves a healthier and longer life.
There are stories of some Buddhists living 80,000 to 100,000 years. The bible has numerous references to longevity with Methuselah living to an age of 969.
Potions, blood, special herbs, all have been tried, and yet the quest continues.
So, how to make it Happen
While in Portugal, we were introduced to a water specialist, Dr. Aquavia Hidrate, a man who had devoted extensive time in trying to find that magic answer.
He listened as I offered up information on the uniqueness of the longevity within my family on both sides. Ever the researcher, he queried their history and experiences and believed it offered an answer.
He went to the area where they lived as children and observed it carefully. He checked the fauna of the area as well as talked to some of the families in that area.
The large reservoir that provides water to so many was sample and tested and he believes he has a trail that shows promise.
The funding offered by these modest ActiveRain points will assist his efforts and when the results are in, he will share all with the rest of the world, at a price sufficient to cover costs and allow for further research.
