Earlier today, I wrote about compliance and its ability to ruin a sales organization (hint, REAL ESTATE). A recent example that I cited is Adidas. I spend a fortune on their products -95% of which is online. I am blocked on all browsers, all apps - because their new compliance is AI driven and blocking MOST users. Online threads confirm this. No guidance on how to correct it.
The Adidas catastrophe is killing sales. It was a legitimate goal to make their sites more compliant and safe for users. However the solution to the problem was worse than the problem!!
The reason Adidas had to do SOMETHING is that bots were entering the site or app and filling shopping carts so that legitimate customers cannot purchase because the item selected is out of stock. The much better way is NOT Captcha...I chose the four images with bicycles and I am always wrong - LoL.
The best way is also NOT CloudFlare that takes forever and frequently does not connect you to the parent site.
There are MUCH easier ways to solve this. AI was NOT the answer. Corporations are a terrible example of too much fragmentation in the business structure. You never know who to contact and when you find someone (probably through LinkedIn, they are not the person to contact and the correct person is never identified and contacted. BTW, there are much easier/better ways to find corporate executives - both through networks and sales approaches). I got through to a Chiropractor group today through the sales team - they saw the value in what I proposed).
This issue was caused by AI and a new protocol implemented by AI. If left unchecked, AI will do whatever it thinks is best to solve a problem.
So, as I am known to say, USE AI, but maintain HUMAN oversite!!
