Reaching The Checkout,
An AR June 2025 Challenge Entry
Fourth and Finally
Although the end-of-month-closing announcement has not yet been broadcast, it appears I have reached the final checkout station at The ActiveRain Points Store.
But first, I want to express my appreciation for the monthly challenges. For me, they promote pondering possibilities. Different than a routine visit to this platform yet similar to those school assignments from decades ago. Do you remember writing a report based on a topic suggested by the teacher or professor.
In particular, this month co-hosts Anna "Banana" Kruchten and Debe Maxwell, CRS have pulled together a unique point-of-sale approach.
AR is, if nothing else, an interesting experiment. And experience too. Talk about portmanteau possibilities and an important point.
These days terms like canceling, reducing and eliminating seem to make appearances on many figurative shelves we regularly encounter. Sometimes with disdain. However, they were commonly used in my previous career in the bricks-and-mortar world of retail. In those days, management was tasked to achieve greater results and improved efficiency. Yes, change "lives" among us as do evolutions in definitions. The significance to this challenge isn't unnoticed by me.
I wonder. What is the future of the ActiveRain Point Store. Will it close? Be transformed into another entity. Taken over or merged. Not to mention the greater ActiveRainLand neighborhood.
Is it necessary to recycle, repurpose and reimagine this venture. I believe points have underscored AR participation. For a long time and for some but definitely not for all. This remains a diverse community. Vibrant in various ways. Viable and valuable. Likely more or less depending on one's perspective. What do you bring to the table? Or take away? Pondering continues. As do points of view. I believe it's worthy of a continuing discussion.
As for the points I have collected, I have decided to leave this imaginary establishment without spending them. For now. I will continue to collect as well as spread them to others in my way on a regular basis. And, yes, you can share your ideas too. You still have time (June 30 deadline) to submit your post(s).
