All, Nothing Or

Perhaps Something In Between

My Third June 2025 Challenge Entry

Wandering the aisles of The ActiveRain Point Store this month, has shown me many offerings already on display. All sorts of combination too or standing out separately.

As I tour each floor of this ginormous emporium, I reflect on my own thoughts that I have shared so far. I am still considering different options. Can mindfulness in shopping lead to abundant happy returns. I digress. . .

When a challenge, on AR or elsewhere in everyday life, is presented I consider what I might bring to the bigger discussion. Admittedly atypical is often the direction I take. Although such circuitousness may not be everyone's preferred choice for an entry, it seems tailor made for me. These days my posts are ongoing examples of food-for-thought. Primarily for me and my own consumption. Thankfully, feasting on the posts from others has also proved satisfying especially as this journey through The Point Store veers deep into the gourmet section. Oh, the abundance of it all!

Once again, I look to quotes as I find nourishment for my mind. In this imaginary outlet and moreover to find additional inspiration for this challenge. I continue to do it, my way. Keeping many thoughts in perspective. And often combining many parts of the message.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.

attributed to Virginia Woolf

If you can't feed a hundred people, feed just one.

attributed to Mother Teresa

Part of the secret to success in life

is to eat what you like and

let the food fight it out inside.

attributed to Mark Twain

As these food for thought words of wisdom settle, I continue to circulate throughout the store. Final thoughts? Like countless things discovered in ActiveRainLand and throughout everyday life, such stuff remains a collective effort. The shopping expedition continues. . .

The images in this post are from canstockphoto.com and my personal collection.

Hi Michael- Mark Twain's quotes satisfy my love of a dry sense of humor served up with a bowlful of pondering. What does it say about us that everything comes back to food and our love of consuming it.

Kathy Streib - on the food front, it seems bread continues an unfortunate journey.  At least a piece.   The saying that bread is the staff of life may be additional evidence that fault might be found in the non-nutritiousness of it all.

Hmm, as a former staffing professional, does this make any sense to you.  Yes, it's a rhetorical question.  Happy Monday.

Veering into the food for thought category (literally), we're finding some of the local food trucks to be a good option for lunch or dinner when our time for food prep is short :)

Dr. Paula McDonald - thank you.  I am grateful that finding words of wisdom attributed to others is relatively easy.  And enlightening.

Michael Jacobs - here I go again, pondering, as usual. What makes a feast atypical? Is it a garden with a banana tree to climb up the branches to pick a banana and eat it while gathering my thoughts? Or is it picking fresh strawberries out of the raised strawberry bed to nibble on before going to bed? Today I heard that the reason why Judy Garland was so skinny was because Hollywood producers and directors would not let her feast on anything other than lettuce. And of course somebody was responsible for the drugs she feasted on. I digress...

Perhaps Judy should have paid more attention to Mark Twain when he said:

Part of the secret to success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.

Patricia Feager - perhaps, ponderment helps make many things possible. Things from the past continue to show up in the present in preposterous and prosperous ways as we follow the paved Yellow Brick Road.  Off to see the $$$$.
