It was a pleasant stay in Buffalo (Tonawanda) , and saw Niagara Falls. It was only raining there, but did bring a raincoat, just in case. It was cool, but seriously small after I have seen Iguazu Falls in Brazil. There were 250 falls down there. It was nice to see it though.
And no, did not go in that boat, they all got VERY wet!
Here is one photo from Iguazu - but there are 250 falls in Brazil.
Getting into Canada ended up being an experience. There were only 2 cars ahead of me, but they said I had to pull into a parking spot. There were MANY border patrol people standing around, but they never came over to my car. After 10 minutes one did, and told me they were training, so don't worry when everyone starts yelling, and guns are pulled. OH MY! I asked if I could video, but he laughed and said NO!
I then drove up North to Niagara on-the-Lake, which was really nice. Parked and walked up and down the cute downtown area. Stopped for lunch, then found the very luxury area, and massive homes on the lake. BEAUTIFUL!
There were some beautiful bridges, and HIGH too. A bit scary driving!
Weather has been really nice, only a few sprinkles, but had to chuckle this morning listening to the local weather. The weather dude said we would experience "filtered sun". Funny. I Googled, and Buffalo sees only 160 days per year of sunny days. Denver sees closer to 300 days.
Off to Lake Placid today, should take about 5.5 hours. Will see Mirror Lake, the Olympic Center and the downtown area. Will only stay one day, and when I leave, High Falls Gorge looks like a great area, and will stop on the way to Burlington VT.
