Sorry No She Sheds in The Villages, FL

Don’t you just love the names we have for areas of our homes which are dedicated to one’s personal design taste?  Here in The Villages, Florida we can’t have out buildings which means She Sheds and Man Caves must be within the home.

Turns out it is healthy to have our own area to surround ourselves with things that are important, that is where the problem begins between the genders.  I believe in being fair and here is my approach, an area for the lady and an area for the gentleman and a common area tastefully done.  Here is how it works in many homes in The Villages, buy a three-bedroom house, install wall beds in two of the bedrooms and give each person their area.  Company comes pull down a bed which can be very comfortable, I got one and is comfortable, spend the money for a good one.

Example, a bedroom would make a great craft or hobby room and give you space to spend your free time.  Another bedroom would be the best place for an office or TV room, with the split floor plan you would have plenty of distance between these rooms and the master bedroom.

Now some men have been known to get carried away converting garages into Man Caves and I guess I am one of them.  Mine isn’t a garage rather my lanai, it is under roof and screened in and ready for some great entertaining, parties and football watching!

Good Tuesday morning, Dick.

This is good information to share with area residents.

We also have strict HOA regulations in our Maryland community.

A lanai that is screened in sounds wonderful - DOn't know how much football I would watch but I am sure that I would love it even with non-stop football on the TV! Enjoy

Very interesting. At my house, we have our home with an attached garage. Then we also have a greenhouse, a garden (not a structure per se), Anthony's shop (25x25), my shop (10x10), and we're building a three stall pole barn for the tractor, side-by-side and RPOD. I can't imagine trying to jam that all into a house! Of course we wouldn't need the tractor if we lived in the villages.
