Stacking Goals to Grow
By Gwen Fowler

Growth doesn’t happen in giant leaps. It happens by stacking small, intentional goals, one on top of the other.

In real estate, it might start with a simple commitment: follow up with every lead within 24 hours. Once that habit is built, add another: post one piece of local content each week. Then, another: schedule quarterly check-ins with past clients. None of these goals is flashy, but they create serious momentum.

The same goes for personal growth: Walk 20 minutes a day, cut one soda, and read 10 pages before bed. Small steps, done consistently, lead to big shifts—financially, physically, professionally, and emotionally.

The key is to stack your goals, not scatter them. Build one into your routine, then add the next. This creates structure, confidence, and a rhythm that keeps growing.

Are you stacking goals or just setting them? 1/2 of 2025 is gone.  Now is a great time to invest time in planning the next half of the year.

This is excellent advice, Gwen! "Stacking goals" truly emphasizes the power of consistent, small actions for meaningful growth. Your examples resonate perfectly, showing how seemingly minor habits build into significant professional and personal achievements. A timely reminder as we head into the latter half of 2025!

Hello Gwen and there are times I need to get up and walk away for a couple of minutes.  Lately I am sitting on my deck in the morning and watching the birds.

Good afternoon Gwen,

What a great post and glad that Carol Williams featured it in her Saturday Series as I missed it. Stacking goals is a great way to ease into implementing your goals. Adding one and then another until they become automatic is spot on.

I stack so I do errands or other jobs at the same time.  I check listings if I am in the area.  Lots of things can compliment each other and it makes it easier to do all the things on the list.  Thanks for the comment.

These are great thoughts, "stack your goals."  I hadn't thought of that before, but with your ideas it makes sense.  I also like to take small steps.  Accomplishing small tasks makes a person feel like they are accomplishing more!

Gwen Fowler SC Lakes & Mountains 864-710-4518, thank you for putting this into words! Stacking your goals makes absolute sense! It turns daunting big goals we've got into smaller, more achievable ones. I tend to do the big picture most of the time, then do this eventually (unconsciously?) but now, I think I can make the deliberate effort to do it better!
