I was going to put, Canada, NOT the 51st state, but thought my post would be deleted. I know the President was at the G7 talks near Banff. Thought with as much traffic as I have seen, he was close.
Drove through Montreal, and OH MY! 2 miles took one hour - traffic was horrid. I cannot imagine doing that everyday!
Was in Ottawa Monday night, and was nice, but didn't get in until late afternoon, so didn't really see the city, and left pretty early Tuesday morning. Good thing, drove through Toronto today. Another OH MY! It was really slow on the highway, so decided to count the floors of one of the high-rises off the highway - 40 floors! And there were LOTS of them in the area!
Have you every seen 18 lanes on a highway??? I hadn't! 5 lanes each for the "express way", then another 4 on the outside so you can exit along the way. This was for each side - one east bound, and one west bound. Again, traffic was pretty bad, but not as bad as Montreal.
Staying in Hamilton Tuesday night and Wednesday night, which is a suburb of Toronto. Pretty nice here. Had a great dinner, and found The Keg, which I knew had some wonderful escargot. They did have to remove all the American wines from their list, as they won't be importing for a while. It is suppose to rain for the next couple of days, so won't be scheduling another cruise on the water. Probably put my raincoat on and walking downtown and seeing things.
Glad I am working my way back home, my butt is tired of driving! Some of these days were suppose to be 3 hours, and have NOT been that. I miss my kitties!
BTW, getting across the border was NOT a deal at all, so we shall see what it is like getting back into the US in a couple of days!
BTW..2.... I wrote down where I have been, and was a bit shocked - 10 states and 2 provinces. Wowsers! Gas to fill up today was $58.02 Canadian $, and know the exchange rate today was 1.00 us to 1.37 Canadian. It is usually around $30-$35.00 to fill up at home!
Can't take too many photos while driving without crashing, and haven't been exploring much in the cities.
