Hi Joan... living in NY City is the bomb! Well, it was the bomb. I don't know about these days with all the craziness there.

I think it is an adventure you will regret if you do not try it.  Nothing says you can't just make it a long vacation, instead of thinking of it as a permanent move.  In this case I think you can always just come home when you are ready.

You are wise to take a test run. I have a friend who sold her home and moved to another state, thinking she had found a place she loved. It wasn't but a few months and she was back and had to buy another home. It was an expensive experience for her. 

Hello Joan - ah, life as a real estate practitioner would seem to get a pass to the head of the class for the stress test.  Just sayin'.   Good luck as you continue your thoughts of moving.

If you are rethinking the move to Portugal, you may just want to take a vacation there for about a month. Listen to your inner voice, the planned move may not be the best.  Just keep traveling to different places, and you always have a home to come to.

Good morning Joan.After years in the real estate business in various niches, stress in retirement comes easy, I don't allow it. As for choking on air, falling up stairs and tripping over nothing I can describe myself as a work in progress. No progress so far but time may weaken my strength to avoid it. Enjoy your day.
