Sunday Reflections by Patricia

Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul

and healthy for the body ---Prov. 16:24

Getting up early without checking the news or reading emails, has a way of causing reflections of my soul. Although it isn't raining at this moment at 3:00 a.m., there is a 65% chance it will rain in Flower Mound, Texas today. We have had a lot of rain, flash flood warnings, lightening, and thunderstorms. There has been more wet grass than usual. This type of weather is not typical. And so, before the day really begins, now is the time to think.

Raindrops - a simple reminder that rain is symbolic for cleansing, renewal, and to wash away negativity and to bring forth positive energy. There is something inside the raindrops that reminds me of tears falling from Heaven. Insights are wonderful attributes that give eyes and ears permission to accept the things we cannot change and to change the things we can ---Serenity Prayer.

Knowing what's going on in this world keeps me abreast of current events. However, lately the news of the day has a way of stealing my joy. I need a broader focus on what is good. My window is open. I can hear the sounds of nature coming from the backdrop of the trees. The air is a cool 75 degrees. I am comfortable.

Hot Tea and Honey

"Kind words are like honey." Honey comes from bees. Words don't have to be poetic; nor do they need to be a quote from an inspirational source. The things people say or do, does not need to sting to get my attention. Today's Journalist doesn't need to be annoying. Sometimes, it helps to listen to complimentary serenading coming from the morning trees. This sound creates a ripple effect in my soul. It's as if a butterfly flutters and my soul comes alive.

Personal reflections of mine are for reading only, not plagiarizing or ai. Positive comments would be appreciated.

I typically read some news on line before I start my day, just to see what's going on. But other than that, I prefer not to watch it online if I can help it. And I find when I don't, since it's always so negative, everything is a bit better!

Kat Palmiotti - I discovered I'm in a better mood when I open the curtains of my mind before thinking about what somebody wrote while I was sleeping.

In honor of my Chicago Roots, The Chicago Band "The Buckinghams" who sang a song called "Kind of a Drag," I needed to do something different.  For me, reading the news first thing I get up was feeling like "kind of a drag," on a daily basis.

Hello Patricia - I try to be and stay aware but also attempt to keep balance in mind.  Living may be the ultimate juggling act.

Patricia we have been getting similar rainy weather here in CT.  I don't mind it.  There is something clean and refreshing about it.

Hi George Souto - I don't mind the rain at all. Flash flooding in TX where the water has nowhere to go is dangerous. Thunder and lightning can be dangerous. Otherwise, I love the sweet smell of the earth after the rain. I think I do my best thinking when it is raining.

No phones or news until I finish my tea.  I need to be centered on my meditations, goals and aspoirations before the world comes in.  Have a great Sunday.

Gwen Fowler SC Lakes & Mountains 864-710-4518 - Hot Tea is my beverage of choice. It calms me down too. Getting centered before rolling up your sleeves to get work done is smart!

I hope your week will be very productive.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - Changing my morning routine was a good idea. I can think clearer when it's not as hot as it gets by the afternoon. Cooler air clears my lungs and my head!

I hope you had a wonderful day!

Lew Corcoran - Waking up early enough to experience the silence through an open window with summer breezes is refreshing to the skin. Plus, it opens the mind! Experiencing the first sounds of nature gives me a kinship to nature.

Now it is evening. My day closes with the same sounds I welcomed when I woke up early. But the experience is in reverse. The sun already set. Soon it will be dark again to enjoy my rest.

I am grateful for your kindness and understanding.
