Motivational Monday…Finding Faith
There has been a lump in my throat all weekend. Thinking about the lives lost brings me to tears.

To date, the flood has left 68 people dead in Kerr County - 28 of those were children. This does not include others in the Hill Country who are lost. That figure changed as I was writing this.
My niece shared a picture with me of a student at her school who was found…alive…clinging to a rock. As I write this, another student from her school is still missing.
Mini-me’s school friend was supposed to be at Camp Mystic but canceled to attend a birthday party for their friend.
What happened is hard to grasp. I cannot imagine the size of the hole left in the hearts of parents, family members, and friends.

It’s hard to ask someone to focus on finding the positive when something as tragic as this happens. We are grateful for those who survived… to those who clung to anything they could until help came.
We are grateful to those who are giving their time and efforts to conduct search and rescue efforts.
And we thank those who are helping with water, food, supplies, and shelter.
Please keep the families of those lost in your prayers. Pray for those whose homes have been lost.

And finally, don’t put off giving someone you love a Texas-sized hug…ever.
Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.

A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our loved ones are sealed inside to comfort us.

Grief I've learned is just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.
