Real Stories in Real Estate - A Daily Tale

By
Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty SA535183000

Real Stories in Real Estate. This is something I've been wanting to share for a while.  I mean, let's face it. We have interesting things that happen to us every day.  Don't you think we should be sharing them with one another and our clients?

I think that no matter what you do, you get desensitized to the uniqueness of your day to day life.  Because for YOU, it's normal.  But once you start really thinking about it, you realize that what you do for a living is actually an experience that people outside of your industry don't understand.  And people within your industry are great to connect with so you can not feel so alone in some of the experiences.

I started doing a daily series on TikTok called Real Stories in Real Estate - here's the latest: Click here to watch

@jackisemerautait Do you show up for the appointment, cancel, blow it off? What say you? (And yes, as a matter of fact, it is 4 o’clock in the afternoon and I’m already in my pajamas!) #day10 #realstoriesrealestate #realestatestory #showinghomes #realtorlife ♬ original sound - jackisemerautait

So I wanted to reach out to my fellow agents here on ActiveRain. What's YOUR latest real story in real estate?

Connecting with others in the industry is valuable and ActiveRain is a great place to interact with others, even those within your own state, haha.  It often leads to referalls!

Good morning Jacki. Sharing experiences in meaningful ways can be a tremendous time saver. Theories are great but reality of the day is significantly better. Enjoy your day.

The reality of our day to day is sometimes exciting, sometimes tedious, but usually interesting I think!

 I like your series, Jacki!

The featured video (the link above) asks "Do you keep your appointment?"

If the house is occupied, my SOP:

You feel for a Seller who has straightened  the house, turned up the AC, and left the house so that you can show it to your Buyers...  and the Buyer says, "No thanks, Fred we don't even need to go inside.  This is not for us!"  That Seller will be frustrated that you didn't show the house.

My preference in that situation is to open the Supra Key Box, open the front door, and walk through the house.  Just me (why push the Buyers?)  One minute, maybe two.

Is that a bluff?  Would it be better to just call the LA and say "The Buyer didn't want to go inside... thanks anyway!"

I'd rather show some courtesy to a Seller who left the premises for my Clients and me.  And as you said Jacki, maybe that house will suit some other Buyer in my stable.

Thank you for sharing that, Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate.  I like how you handle it.  I'm of the same mindset - it seems the most professional option.

This really depends on the circumstances and where it falls in the tour. It never hurts to see another property. It may be the right property for the next person you speak with and you can tell them about it.
