Having started real estate 24 years ago, I was ambitious and eager to pile the listings and buyers in my pipeline. A goal each 6 months was to open a new office. I succeeded by opening 5 offices, in Aliso Viejo, San Diego, Newport Beach and Palm Springs, and San Diego. No office was too small and our boutique firm had motivated agents that were bi-lingual or polygots. We all inspired one another to build our teams because we were driven to take care of clients, give back for a cause after each transaction, and managers were rewarded with bonuses. Not to mention we built a family atmosphere.
Life changed! The loss of my son, directed me into a place that succeeding in business was no longer a goal. I just wanted to be in my home, working local, where my son loved to be when he wasn't training for the Olympics or surfing at a local beach.
We change, our view and goals in life changes. We put things in perspective. It makes it that much harder when he always assisted me when he was home and at his home for marketing or errands to the local board of association.
Now, that a few years have passed, I feel as if I want to work more just to keep my mind busy. I am good at what I do and being a Broker gives me flexibility to still work at my own pace and provide exceptional service to each customer.
