Fayetteville, Texas, is a hidden gem in Fayette County, located about halfway between Austin and Houston. Known for its peaceful rural lifestyle and strong sense of history, the entire town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Fayetteville Historic District, added to the register in 2008, spans 153.5 acres and includes 345 historically significant properties. It’s one of the few towns in Texas where nearly the entire community is recognized for its 19th-century architecture and layout.
As of July 2025, the local real estate market shows steady activity. There are currently 7 active listings ranging from $215,000 to $750,000, with an average price of $448,700 and a wide mix of lot sizes and square footage. One home is under contract, and 4 homes have sold recently, with prices ranging from $189,000 to $730,000. The average sold price was $420,975, with homes selling at about 97% of list price.
